Terms & Conditions

When booking an appointment a £25 deposit is required. If you need to move or cancel your appointment, 48 hours working days notice is required (Mon-Fri)  If you fail to allow 48 hours working days notice, your deposit will be lost and payment for missing the appointment will be required before any future appointments can be booked.

Price quote is a from* price - price will increase based on the size of your pet, the coat condition and your pets behaviour.

I work in a 1 to 1  crate free environment - meaning we do not have the facilities to keep pets at the salon for longer than their allotted time. Please note pets left for longer than 15 minutes after collection time may receive additional charges.

Please be on time for your appointment - any lateness will result in less time to groom your pet. Lateness of more than 15 mins may result in a cancelled appointment or a reduced service (i.e. a bath and tidy instead of a full groom) If an appointment has to be cancelled due to your being late, the deposit will be lost and an additional deposit will be needed for a future booking.

Please also be considerate and be on time to collect your pet, as this will affect other customers appointments.

Matting terms & conditions

Tidal Tails (Laura) practices humanity before vanity. Severely matted dogs will be shaved off for their care and wellbeing. Should I be presented with a matted or neglected coat, if my opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 ( Sec 5. – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).
De-matting is not included in the price of the groom. There will be an extra charge for the service due to time and extra wear and tear on equipment.

When a dog’s coat is matted it may need to have a very short clip. This takes longer because the blades have to run below the matt very close to the skin. It may also cause irritation because the clipper blades can get very hot but we take regular breaks in order to let the blades cool to avoid burning your dog’s skin. It is also possible that we may uncover nicks, cuts or other potential problems which have been hidden by the matted hair.

By agreeing to the matting policy - Tidal Tails (Laura) cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matted clipping procedures or problems uncovered on a badly matted, neglected coat.

These could include, but are not limited to, the following:
Itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing.

Please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog’s skin could be nicked with the clippers as I have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it.

Once your dog has been shaved, we can work together to agree on a grooming schedule suited to your dogs needs, to ensure the matting does not happen again.

I highly recommend brushing your dog daily with a slicker brush and metal comb if they tend to become matted. This will help to avoid de-matting with clippers.
